Ad Creative Renamer
100% Client-SideBulk-renames Meta, Google, TikTok, WhatsApp and email ad creatives using a campaign naming template, with automatic aspect-ratio detection and creative-set version tracking.
How to use Ad Creative Renamer
- 1
Dimensions vs. aspect ratios
The tool reads each image's actual pixel width and height, then matches that ratio against common ad formats (1x1, 4x5, 9x16, 16x9, 1.91x1 and others) using a small tolerance -- not an exact-pixel match -- so a 1080x1349 export still resolves to 4x5 instead of falling back to raw dimensions. A genuinely unusual size, like 1200x700, is never forced into a preset it doesn't match; it's labeled by its dimensions instead.
- 2
Creative Set Mode and version numbers
The same concept exported in several sizes is one creative set, not several unrelated files. Files dropped together are grouped into a set automatically as a starting point; you can freely move files between sets, split or merge sets, and rename each set's label afterward. Each set gets its own version number in creation order (the first set is v01, the next is v02), shared across every size in that set.
- 3
The token engine and empty fields
A template like {brand}-{campaign}-{adset}-{concept}-{ratio}-{version} is evaluated per file: each {token} is replaced with the matching field, separators are normalized to your chosen character, and any field you left blank is dropped cleanly rather than leaving a stray double separator like finshark--credit-cards---4x5-v01.png.
In-Browser vs. Server-Based Tools
| Feature | AnyTool Studio (in-browser) | Traditional server-based |
|---|---|---|
| Privacy | Files stay on your device and are never transmitted. | Files are uploaded to and processed on a third-party server. |
| Speed | No upload or download wait; speed depends on your device. | Upload and download time grows with file size and connection speed. |
| File size limits | No imposed limit; bounded by your device's memory. | Commonly capped per file or per task, with higher limits on paid plans. |
| Account required | No signup or login. | Often required for larger files or repeated use. |
| Data retention | Nothing to retain; data is cleared from memory. | Files may be stored for a period before deletion. |
Frequently Asked Questions
No. The tool only changes the filename -- the image bytes inside the downloaded ZIP are identical to what you uploaded.
{ratio} resolves to a recognized advertising aspect-ratio label like 4x5 or 9x16 when the file's proportions match one within a small tolerance. {dimensions} always resolves to the exact pixel size, like 1200x700, regardless of whether it matches a known ratio -- useful for Google Display exports where exact size matters more than a named ratio.
Each creative set gets a version number based on the order it was created in -- the first set is v01, the next is v02, and so on. Every file placed in the same set shares that version, so a concept exported at 1x1, 4x5 and 9x16 all carry the same version number and differ by {ratio} instead.
Yes. Type directly into a row's "New filename" field to override just that file; use "Reset overrides" to discard all manual overrides and go back to the template-generated names.
They're kept as typed. The tool only strips characters that are unsafe in filenames on Windows, macOS or Linux (such as / \ : * ? " < > |) and collapses extra separators -- it doesn't remove non-Latin scripts or emoji.
The CSV lists each file's original filename, new filename, width, height, detected ratio, creative set and version in one table -- useful for a handoff doc or an import into another system, alongside the renamed files themselves.
An ad creative naming convention is a fixed pattern for how you name every exported file, so a filename tells you what it is without opening it: which brand, campaign, ad set and concept it belongs to, what size it was exported at, and which version. The alternative is what most accounts actually end up with -- image_1.png, image_2.png, final-final-v2.webp -- which works for exactly as long as one person remembers what those files were for. Ad Creative Renamer takes a batch of exported creatives, lets you define that naming structure once with reusable tokens, and previews every resulting filename before you download. Nothing is uploaded: image reading, renaming, ZIP packaging and CSV export all run in your browser.
Common use cases
Agencies handing off a batch to a client
Deliver every exported size with a consistent client-campaign-concept-placement-date-version pattern, so a client's media buyer can drop the ZIP straight into Ads Manager without renaming anything first.
Performance marketers running Meta or TikTok tests
Name each concept's variants campaign-adset-concept-ratio-version (or campaign-hook-ratio-version for TikTok) so it's obvious in the ad account which files belong to which test.
In-house teams shipping to multiple placements at once
Export the same concept at 1x1, 4x5, 9x16 and 1.91x1, group them as one creative set, and get a matching, version-tagged filename for each size in one pass.
Anyone tired of final-final-v2.webp
Replace ad-hoc export names with a template you define once and reuse for every batch, instead of renaming files by hand in a folder.
Limitations
Original image bytes are never modified
Renaming does not re-encode, recompress or resize your creatives -- the file that goes into the ZIP is byte-for-byte the same one you uploaded, just under a new name.
Grouping is manual by default
Files dropped together are grouped into one creative set as a starting assumption, not by inspecting image content or filenames -- there's no automatic recognition of which images are actually the same concept. Review and adjust the Creative Set column for each batch.
Supported formats
PNG, JPG/JPEG and WebP are supported for upload, dimension detection and renaming.
Troubleshooting
Two files show the same new filename
The table flags every filename collision before you can download. This usually means two files ended up in the same creative set with the same size, or a naming field is missing for one of them -- adjust the template, the creative set, or type a manual override for one of the flagged rows.
A file's dimensions never appear
If dimension reading fails for a specific file, its ratio and dimensions columns stay blank rather than showing a wrong guess. Re-check that the file is a genuine PNG, JPG or WebP image and not a renamed or corrupted file.
Privacy
Processed entirely in your browser
Your creative files are processed locally in your browser and are not uploaded to AnyTool Studio for renaming. Reading dimensions, applying the naming template, building the ZIP and generating the CSV manifest all happen on your device.
